Care and Feeding

Cardinal tetras are peaceful and social fish, making them an excellent choice for community aquariums. They thrive in a well-maintained tank with a pH level between 5.5 and 7.0, and a temperature range of 73-81°F (23-27°C). It is important to provide them with plenty of hiding spots, such as plants or caves, as they are naturally timid and prefer shaded areas.

Cardinal tetras are omnivorous and will eat a variety of foods. Their diet should consist of high-quality flake or pellet food, supplemented with live or frozen foods such as brine shrimp, bloodworms, and daphnia. Providing a varied diet will help ensure their overall health and vibrant colors.

Compatibility

Cardinal tetras are peaceful schooling fish and should be kept in groups of at least six to eight individuals. They coexist well with other small, non-aggressive fish such as Neon Tetras, Guppies, and Rasboras. Avoid keeping them with larger, aggressive species that may intimidate or prey on them.
