Care and Feeding

A minimum of 10 gallons is recommended for a school of X-ray Tetras. They prefer slightly acidic to neutral water (pH 6.0-7.5) with a temperature range of 72-78°F (22-26°C). A good filtration system is essential to maintain water quality, as Tetras are sensitive to poor water conditions.

X-ray Tetras are omnivorous and should be fed a varied diet to ensure optimal health. A balanced diet includes high-quality flake food specifically formulated for Tetras. Supplement their diet with brine shrimp, daphnia, or bloodworms for added protein. Offer blanched vegetables like zucchini or spinach occasionally to provide essential nutrients.
